Meeting with a delegation of Singapore companies, Enterprise Singapore and SingaporeTech

I've recently had the opportunity to meet with the trade delegation of the Romania-Singapore Chamber of Commerce. During our meeting, I was pleased to witness the mutual openness towards investment from Singapore in Romania, and the enthusiasm of the companies who were eager to learn more about the business environment and opportunities present in Romania.

The trade delegation included representatives from a diverse range of companies, including those in the technology and innovation sectors. They were joined in their visit by Enterprise Singapore, the country's investment promotion agency, as well as Singapore Tech, the agency responsible for promoting investment in technology.

According to available data, Singapore is one of the world's leading technology hubs, with a strong track record in areas such as fintech, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. This makes them a valuable partner for Romania as it seeks to develop its own technology and innovation industries. In fact, Singapore is already the 8th largest foreign investor in Romania, with over 800 million euros invested in the country as of 2020.

During our meeting, we had a productive discussion about the business environment in Romania and the various investment opportunities available in the country. Romania boasts a highly skilled workforce, a strategic location in the heart of Europe, and a supportive government committed to promoting foreign investment, making it an attractive investment destination for Singaporean companies.

Furthermore, the potential for collaboration and knowledge-sharing between Romania and Singapore is immense. Both countries have unique strengths in technology and innovation, and there is much to learn from each other. With the support of agencies such as Enterprise Singapore and Singapore Tech, we are excited about the opportunities for our countries to work together and drive innovation and growth in the future.
